From the article: Mr. President: Just Say No to Twitter
Through easily guessed admin passwords and insecure handling of admin account credentials, Twitter has been the victim of some pretty easy to carry out hacks. One account that's been repeatedly accessed belongs to President Barack Obama. This begs the question, should President Obama be twittering, or do the Twitter security risks outweigh the rewards? He should get rid of his Twitter account
- Even if he is not personally tweeting or not often, the security risk (like knowing his location) is too great. If impersonators can get into his account and tweet and the IP address can be located, someone who wants to blow up the president, could target that location and cause a lot of people harm. And why should his staffers waste their time tweeting for him at the taxpayers' expense?

NO WAY
- He should not even think about it, nor his wife or children. It is far beneath the demeanor of the leader of the most powerful country in the world. If he has the time and inclination for this, he has no regard for the importance of this job. He can twitter when he is back doing social work in Chicago!

- This is the direction we are heading with communication technology. It's not just for celebrity news. It's the future of tranparency in government. Today email and websites are outmoded ways of communicating. I'm glad the president is on twitter - just like the author of this article is.

Please "NO" tweets, Mr. President
- NO tweets because China, North Korea, and Iran are reading them all. They would love a "slip up". Twitters have too much time on their hands!

He's not your average "celebrity".
- He''s not a "celebrity". He's the head of the Government of the most powerful nation in the world. For many reasons, his security should be uppermost in everyone's mind - not whether you can read something cute about his kids or dog, etc. Gov't things can be disbursed thru Press Conferences, and we'll have them, within minutes. That's good enough.

twittery obama
- obama is being very careless and naive, in being so blatantly ostentatious and conceided to be on Twitter, for example, along with having a blackberry and other careless activities. I think he has lost his mind.

Time to Step up.
- With the President using the internet, maybe we can finally get the software up to speed to prevent the kind of problem we have. Added benefit, the FBI could start pulling the plug on the internet misfits.

Don't blame him for bad security
- It's not the president's fault that Twitter has bad security. And while I hope he wouldn't be twittering through meetings or any other inappropriate times, I applaud his attempt to be innovative and to connect with the people. Obviously not all of his attempts will work, but Twitter, if used well, can be an easy way for him to just say a few words and get people talking about it. I think that TWITTER should be taken to task for their lax security. Don't blame the victim, get the company to fix the damn problems rather than telling a celebrity like the President not to use it.

He Doesn't.
- There have been three official tweets on the Obama Twitter account since the inauguration. This was primarily a campaign tool. I doubt the president is even personally tweeting at all these days, and it looks like they're moving the action to @Whitehouse, anyway. However, abandoning it entirely leaves room for lots of impostors to make fake and unofficial accounts. Barely tweeting and being very mindful of security seems like the better option.
