Disabling DCOM

  1. Click Start
  2. Click Run
  3. Type dcomcnfg.exe

  4. Click OK. (Windows 2000 users should now skip to step 9).
  5. The following dialog box should appear:

  6. Double-click Component Services
  7. Double-click Computers
  8. Right-click My Computer and select Properties

  9. Click the Default Properties tab
  10. Remove the checkmark from the Enable Distributed Com option

  11. Click OK to accept the changes and exit Dcomcnfg
