Guide Review
ZoneAlarm
ZoneAlarm® monitors both inbound and outbound connection attempts. This cannot be emphasized enough, as a product like ZoneAlarm will stop a Remote Access Trojan (RAT) cold. Trojans are always challenging for antivirus scanners to detect. In their most benign form, advertisers are increasingly using Trojans to surreptitiously track user's surfing habits. Hackers use them to remotely control users' systems and often use those infected systems to launch distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. ZoneAlarm is also one of the most intuitively easy programs to use. Ease-of-use is of paramount importance, as a program that is confusing can lead to misuse. And, of course, misuse leads to lack of protection. No fears of that sort with ZoneAlarm.
