Kaspersky Anti-Virus to Power BorderWare's MXtreme Products
Kaspersky Labs, an international data security software developer,
announces the integration of Kaspersky Anti-Virus into the MXtreme Mail
Firewall appliance developed by BorderWare, one of the world's leading
firewall vendors.
The MXtreme Mail Firewall delivers a unique combination of e-mail
security, spam protection and content control in a high performance
appliance for mid-size and large organizations. Thousands of enterprises
all over the world already trust the security of their networks to
BorderWare products. However, now customers can also benefit from an
integrated virus scanning option based on the renowned virus protection
technology - Kaspersky Anti-Virus. The entire range of MXtreme
appliances will now be empowered with the Kaspersky option providing
robust virus filtration of all incoming and outgoing email.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus is widely recognized for delivering unsurpassed
virus protection. The high quality of Kaspersky Labs software is
affirmed by numerous victories in comparison tests conducted by
respected computer publications and independent research centers as well
as by positive reviews from leading information technology security
experts. Additionally, many well-known data protection software
developers have chosen the Kaspersky Anti-Virus kernel to drive their
very own products.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus protects against all types of malicious programs
including computer viruses, network worms and Trojan horses. The product
utilizes a unique technology that digs viruses out from even the most
difficult objects: it can scan inside more than 700 compressed file
formats as well as within the most widely used e-mail databases. Whereas
other anti-virus programs require time to be updated in order to detect
new viruses, Kaspersky Anti-Virus employs technology that allows it to
automatically identify unknown viruses. Kaspersky Anti-Virus' updating
feature is yet another strong point as it is the only product to provide
new virus signatures twice per day. This, combined with the option
providing an advanced second-generation heuristic scanning technology,
assures protection against even the latest viruses.
The possibility to have Kaspersky Anti-Virus functionality directly
integrated into the entire range of MXtreme products clearly sets
BorderWare apart as the e-mail security leader.
Vitaly Bezrodnykh, Kaspersky Labs Commercial Director noted:
"We are happy to provide MXtreme customers with the cutting-edge virus
protection technology that our company has developed and perfected over
the past fourteen years. I strongly believe that the legendary
reliability and cost-effectiveness of Kaspersky Anti-Virus will make
BorderWare Technologies' products even more competitive and their
customers' security even better."
Peter Cox, International Vice President of BorderWare Technologies
commented:
"E-mail is the single most important network application and no
organisation can afford to be without effective email security controls,
this applies to a wide range of e-mail specific risks but particularly
to virus controls. Our agreement with Kaspersky Labs means that we can
deliver industry leading anti-virus solutions in the MXtreme Mail
Firewall at a very competitive price and bring truly effective e-mail
security within the reach of all users."
BorderWare Technologies will commence accepting orders for the new virus
scanning option based on Kaspersky Anti-Virus on May 1, 2003, with
actual delivery starting later this month .
