TIPPINGPOINT CHIEF TECHNOLOGY AND STRATEGY OFFICER TO PARTICIPATE IN SECURITY PANEL AT THE NETWORLD + INTEROP CONFERENCE
AUSTIN, Texas April 24, 2003 TippingPoint Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: TPTI), the leaders in high-speed intrusion prevention, today announced that Marc Willebeek-LeMair, TippingPoint's chief technology and strategy officer, will participate in a panel on innovative, new security technologies at the 2003 Networld +Interop (N+I) conference to be held in Las Vegas April 27 through May 3.
The panel, "Evidence of Innovation at Work: Advanced Weaponry for Securing Internets" will be held from 3:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30. Anne Saita, senior editor of Information Security Magazine's West Coast bureau, will be moderating the panel, which will focus on innovative solutions to security problems. "We selected the five most innovative technologies that will transform security as we know it, and chose one speaker from each area," said Saita. "Marc Willebeek-LeMair is the panel expert on intrusion prevention systems and will discuss the technology that enables attack prevention."
CTOs from five companies will share new approaches to preventing cyber threats, managing security information, containing Web service vulnerabilities, providing secure mobility solutions, centralizing security policy administration and enforcement, and demonstrably improving authentication for applications. Participants include representatives from WaveSet Technologies, Eruces, Inc., Rainbow Technologies, eSecurity Inc. and Bluesocket.
Willebeek-LeMair is an expert on network systems and security, speaking frequently on the topic of security specific processors on an international basis. He spent 10 years at the T.J. Watson Research Center of IBM where he was responsible for the exploration of intelligent infrastructure technologies, as well as streaming audio and video applications. Willebeek-LeMair's extensive background includes research in distributed computing, high speed networking technologies, network caching, personalization and transcoding proxies, network processors and management systems. Having received his doctorate in electrical engineering from Cornell University, he has over 10 patents and has published more than 50 articles.
