PKZip Hoax and Trojan

Originally, the PKZip or PKZ300 warning was simply a hoax. However, a Trojan was then created and circulated by the same name, causing confusion among some users. The importance of understanding that any executable file has the capacity to be infected cannot be overstated. Users should note that PKWare, makers of PKZip, have never released, nor will they, a version number 3. The latest version is 2.04G. Further details regarding this once hoax, now Trojan, can be found at CIAC.

Remember, hoaxes cost companies - and people - time and money. Please do not forward them to others.
