How to Remove Platan

Here's How:
- Locate a copy of Regedit and msconfig.exe if they have been deleted from the computer. Place them in the Windows System directory.
- Click on the Start button and select "Run..." from the Start menu. Type REGEDIT and click on "OK" to run the Regedit program.
- Click on plus symbol for each directory, in order: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Software, Microsoft, Windows, CurrentVersion, Run.
- Click on the registry key "iexpand" and press delete. Confirm deletion to remove it from the registry.
- Select "Exit" from the Registry menu.
- Restart the computer.
- Delete all files and emails related to the Platan Trojan, including iexpand.exe in the Windows System directory if it exists.
Tips:
- Backup all work before beginning editing the registry.
- Regedit is normally deleted by the Trojan to make detection and removal more difficult.
- Good sources for files like regedit.exe include the Internet, CD, backup disk, friend's computer, or local store.
