Free Backup and Recovery Offer

From Mary Landesman, About.com GuideJuly 9, 2010

Follow me on:

Given the invasive nature of today's malware, a system wipe and restore is often the best (and certainly safest) option to guard against rootkit-enabled keyloggers and backdoors.

From July 9th through July 12th, Paragon Software is giving away free copies of its Backup & Recovery Compact and its System Backup software, both of which normally retail for $39.95 each. To take advantage of the free offers, visit Paragon Software's free giveaway page.

Mary,… I thought you had been blogging long enough to know that you might want to check your links,… before posting them. There is only a trial version and not a free version of the $39 software package. Please don’t insult your readers by making claims that just are not true,.. If this is what is to come,.. I am off your email list.

I’m very sorry. The newsletter will auto-pull from the blog if I don’t manually edit it. I almost always do, but this week I got tied up at work and missed the deadline. Really sorry for the inconvenience. You’re absolutely correct, the offer ended on the 12th. :-(

John, as mentioned I made a mistake. I apologize for the screw up. I work hard to ensure accuracy but this time around I screwed up and didn’t get to the newsletter edits in time. I’m very sorry.

I originally thought “Thanks for nothing, Mary,” but I apologize. And to John, “Nobody’s perfect, we all make mistakes, even me, but I won’t admit it.” Paragon can put their free offers where the sun don’t shine.

People think that everyone else should be perfect. Things happen in this life and if this is the worst of disappointments in anyone’s life be thankful in stead of being disrespectful of someone at least trying to help us. Thanks Mary for having the column in the first place.
