Critical Update for Internet Explorer Released
Wednesday December 17, 2008
Microsoft has released a critical security update to resolve the vulnerability in Internet Explorer that attackers began targeting early last week. Details and the patch can be found in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS08-087. Those using any version of Internet Explorer to browse the Web should apply the patch as soon as possible as previous workarounds suggested by Microsoft (such as enabling DEP) have already been bypassed by attackers. Those using Firefox, Opera, Safari, and browsers other than Internet Explorer are not vulnerable to this particular exploit.
