Enable DEP to Protect Against Zero-Day Exploit

Attackers are leveraging a zero-day exploit targeting unpatched vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer v7. Fortunately, there is a built-in defense you can enable to protect against the zero-day attack. For details, see: How to Enable DEP in IE7
I followed the directions but the box to check was not highlighted (black letters) to be able to check it. I run norton, adaware and spybot on a weekly basis. Any suggestions? Thanks.
