Fraudsters Turn to Blue Screen Screensaver

When it comes to IT pranks, the blue screen screensaver is a classic. As its name suggests, the screensaver mimics the appearance of the blue screen of death so infamous in Windows 95/98 (and now reappearing in Vista). Now it seems that FakeAlert-AG is incorporating the blue screen screensaver, according to Paolo Palumbo at McAfee. Previous to this, FakeAlert-AG employed a screensaver that gave the appearance of bugs crawling across the screen.
