PC Tools ThreatFire

Tuesday May 20, 2008
Your antivirus needs your help. Today's threats are more stealthy, more abundant, and more likely to go undetected by traditional signature-based scanners. This doesn't mean you should abandon your signature-based antivirus - but it does mean you should add extra layers of protection to compensate for its weak points. PC Tools ThreatFire is a free (for home use) behavior analyzer that can easily run alongside existing antivirus and other security software. Not only will it help prevent future infections, ThreatFire can detect and block behaviors associated with keyloggers, password stealers, and other nefarious malcode. >> ThreatFire Review

My experiences with ThreatFire

1. It deleted the email program because it detected a virus in an email
2. It totally blocked a game from being able to be played so that the only way to play the game was to uninstall ThreatFire.
3. Running a scan brought the complete computer to a stop for over an hour so that nothing else could be done until the scan finished.
