Microsoft Researches "Friendly Worms"

Here's a good example of why people need more real world experience before being set loose in a research lab: Friendly 'worms' could spread software fixes. There are so many ethical, security, and business reasons why this is oh such a bad idea. And, worse, it's not even an original idea and every previous attempt by other equally misguided idealists has ended in disaster. On the plus side, it opens up a whole new potential for security vendors. Instead of anti-virus scanners, they can start developing anti-microsoft scanners.
