Disable System Restore to Remove Viruses

System Restore lets you revert back to specific restore points in the past, without losing data files created after that date. Sometimes though, malware can be trapped in the System Restore folders; an antivirus scan reports that a virus was found in either the _RESTORE (Windows ME) folder or the System Volume Information folder (Windows XP) but the antivirus software is unable to remove it.
