The latest phishing scam targeting Visa customers claims your card has been stolen and your account frozen until you confirm your identity. Of course, those who swallow that bait and follow the directions in the email are handing their account details over to the crooks. Here's what one such phishing email claims:
Subj: Your Visa Credit Card was cloned and may be in DANGER!

Dear Visa Member,

Someone from Bulgaria has stolen your identity and cloned your Credit Card. They tryied to get money from your account by clonning your Credit Card. They used the Credit Card at 2 different ATM's but they didn't get any money because we frozen your account. Until you will confirm your identity online we are forced to keep blocked your account.

Please click the link bellow and enter your account information to confirm that you are not currently away. You have 3 days to confirm account information or your account will be locked.

If you've received a phishing email targeting Visa accounts, you can forward a copy to phishing@visa.com. If you've actually followed the instructions in the email, notify your card issuer immediately.

Be on the lookout for similar scams. Check out these other examples of phishing email for common tactics used.

There should be some sort of Federal agency that we can forward these emails too – maybe they could them track them down
