The Phishing Guide

Friday September 24, 2004
Phishing attacks - designed to scam critical financial details from the unsuspecting - appear to be on the rise. The stakes are also higher. Today's phishing scams don't stop at credit card theft; your identity may also be at risk. Security consultants from NGS are fighting back. Claiming that poor corporate security makes it easier for phishing attacks to succeed, the folks at NGS have released "The Phishing Guide". This publicly available, free, whitepaper explains the history, techniques, and motives behind phishing schemes and then delves into the various attack vectors exploited. The paper offers sound technical advice for combatting the threats at the client, server, and enterprise levels.
