Mimail.I worm discovered

Friday November 14, 2003
A new variant of Mimail, disguised as a message from PayPal, has been reported in the wild. Dubbed Mimail.I, the worm is a mass-mailer that entices users to enter their credit card information which is then sent to the worm's author. The Mimail.I email carries an attachment that employs a double extension ruse, for example: Paypal.asp.scr. The worm spoofs the From address, thus making it appear the email is from someone other than the true infected party.
