Stinger updated

Wednesday November 12, 2003
McAfee's AVERT Stinger is an often recommended tool by this site. Now, thanks to Andreas Marx of AV-Test.org, Stinger has gotten even better. In tests he performed, Andreas discovered a glitch that could lead to incomplete removal or missed detection of the Sober worm. AVERT Labs fixed the problem and began providing a new version of Stinger on November 11th, less than 24 hours after the report. Stinger successfully detects and removes dozens of high profile and stubborn threats and is offered free from McAfee AVERT.
